Watching

Watching fencing: what the FIE and its partners have said, statement by statement.

Broadcast arrangements change from season to season, so each statement on this page carries its date and its source. No subscription or other prices are given.

The FIE's own streaming: Fencing TV

The FIE launched its own streaming platform, Fencing TV, during the 2025 World Championships in Tbilisi, according to the sports news site Francs Jeux (24 July 2025). Francs Jeux said it showed bouts live and on replay, with commentary in English, Spanish, French, Arabic or Chinese, and described it as free to watch. The research did not read an FIE page describing the service, so the details rest on that report.

The FIE's broadcast partner: Warner Bros. Discovery

On 31 March 2026 the FIE and Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) announced that their long-term partnership would continue. WBD's press release says it covers 75 markets in Europe and Asia and includes:

  • live coverage of the FIE World Championships in Europe;
  • live coverage of the European Championships in Europe and Asia;
  • highlights of the epee, foil and sabre Grand Prix circuits in Europe and Asia.

The release names the outlets as Eurosport (Europe and Asia), TNT Sports (the United Kingdom and Ireland) and HBO Max (streaming in Europe). It says WBD will also handle the distribution of global rights, sponsorship sales, and editorial and social content for the FIE. Francs Jeux reported the extension the next day, 1 April 2026; only its headline was read.

No statement was found on how the senior World Cups of 2026-27 are shown, as distinct from the World and European Championships and the Grand Prix highlights.

The 2026 World Championships in Hong Kong

An Indian sports site, Khel Now, said on 22 July 2026 that Fencing TV would stream every match of the Hong Kong World Championships worldwide without charge, that TNT Sports through HBO Max was a further option in some markets, and that it was unclear whether the FIE's YouTube channel would carry the event. That is one press report, so it is unconfirmed.

The FIE's own press kit for Hong Kong told media that event photos were available for editorial use on the FIE's Facebook page and that a link to a daily Video News Release would be shared with them.

Live results

Several organisers point to live results services rather than video:

  • The European Fencing Confederation's closing report on the Antony European Championships (22 June 2026) links to FencingTime Live for the full results.
  • USA Fencing's page for the Bradenton para World Cup (May 2026) points to FencingTime Live.
  • British Fencing's page for the Cardiff Para Fencing European Championships (October 2026) links to live results under its athlete information.

The FIE's own results pages load their content by script and could not be read for this research.

In the hall: replays on the big screen

At the biggest finals the rules require the video review to be shown to spectators. Under the FIE's Technical Rules (December 2024 edition), at the finals of the Olympic Games and of the senior, junior and cadet World Championships, the replays being reviewed must be shown on a screen the spectators can see (t.60 to t.62). How video refereeing works is on officials and video refereeing.

LA28

In the United States, NBC's Olympic websites carry LA28 fencing schedule and venue guides. No statement from an LA28 broadcaster specific to fencing was read. The events, dates and venue are on LA28.

What could not be confirmed

  • How the 2026-27 senior World Cups are streamed.
  • Whether the FIE's YouTube channel carries live events, and what the Olympic Channel or olympics.com shows of fencing.
  • Any LA28 broadcaster's plans for fencing.
  • Viewing arrangements for wheelchair fencing events beyond the live results links above.

No subscription prices or other money figures are given on this page.
