We use the FIE's own documents first: its Hong Kong 2026 press kit, its information letters, its invitation letters and its rule books. The FIE's results and ranking pages on fie.org load their content by script and could not be read for this research, and the IOC's site timed out on every attempt. So most medallists on these pages rest on the European Fencing Confederation, national federations, governments, Wikipedia or press reports, and each page says which. Where a result rests on one press report or a search-result extract, it is marked unconfirmed. Where a bronze medallist was not found, the page says it is missing rather than guess.
Foil, epee and sabre are separate weapons with separate events, and men's and women's, individual and team, and senior, junior and cadet events are all separate competitions. Results are never merged across them. No prize money or other money figures appear on these pages.
A season that is still running gets no winner here. For the finished 2025-26 season, no FIE end-of-season standings could be read, so these pages name event winners only and no overall leader for any weapon.
Russian and Belarusian athletes in 2026
According to a search-result extract of the FIE's own article (the page body did not render), the FIE's Executive Committee decided that, from the 2026 Senior World Championships in Hong Kong onward, its protective measures were lifted and athletes holding Russian or Belarusian passports could take part in FIE events under their national names, flags and anthems. The date is given two ways: a search-result extract of FIE Information Letter 8-26 gives the decision as 29 May 2026 (the letter itself returned a not-found error), while press reports date the announcement 2 June 2026. Both may be true, one being the decision and the other its publication, but that is not confirmed. The full detail, with the IOC's own dated decisions of May and July 2026, is on the World Championships 2026 page.
